How to Fit FTX6230

1. Access the Gearbox

• Remove the body shell.

• Remove the gearbox cover or open the gearbox housing to expose the differential.

2. Open the Gearbox / Differential

• Undo the screws holding the gearbox or diff cover.

• Carefully lift the cover away.

• Take note of gear orientation before removing anything.

3. Remove the Old Diff Drive Spur Gear(s)

• Locate the diff drive spur gear(s) on the differential output.

• Remove any retaining clip, pin, or screw securing the gear.

• Slide the worn gear off the shaft.

4. Prepare the New Gears

• Compare the new FTX6230 gears with the old ones to confirm they match.

• Check that the gear teeth are clean and undamaged.

5. Install the New Diff Drive Spur Gear(s)

• Slide the new gear(s) onto the shaft in the same orientation as the originals.

• Refit any retaining clips or screws.

• Ensure the gear spins freely without binding.

6. Reassemble the Gearbox

• Reinstall the gearbox or diff cover.

• Tighten screws evenly, taking care not to overtighten into plastic.

• Rotate the drivetrain by hand to confirm smooth movement.

7. Final Check

• Refit the body shell.

• Spin the wheels by hand to check for smooth operation.

• Power the car gently and listen for abnormal noises.
