FTX8440 - 2-Speed Transmission / Gearbox Assembly

Overview

The FTX8440 is the complete 2-speed transmission / gearbox assembly used on the FTX Kanyon. It forms the core of the Kanyon drivetrain, providing a selectable low gear for crawling and a higher gear for trail running.

The transmission is supplied fully assembled and designed to bolt directly into the Kanyon chassis.

Available Versions

FTX8440-B - Transmission Assembly

• Complete 2-speed transmission / gearbox

• Supplied fully assembled

• No motor or servo fitted

FTX8440-A - Transmission with Motor and Servo

• Complete 2-speed transmission / gearbox

• Supplied with:

  • FTX8469 motor fitted

  • Gear-shift servo fitted

• Ready-to-install drivetrain solution for the Kanyon

Both versions are mechanically identical in construction and gearing.

Supplied Gearing

Both FTX8440-A and FTX8440-B are supplied with the following components installed as standard:

• FTX8468 - 20 Tooth (20T) pinion gear

• FTX123A - Pinion grub screw

• FTX8439 - 70 Tooth (70T) spur gear

This gearing provides the stock balance of speed and torque intended for the Kanyon’s 2-speed transmission.
