FTX MIGHTY THUNDER/KANYON ALUMINIUM REAR SUSPENSION TRAILING LINKS
Suspension Links / Arms Upgrade
Upper Suspension Links
FTX8313 - Stock Upper Link (plastic)
Standard plastic upper suspension link used on FTX Kanyon and Mighty Thunder.
Provides basic suspension articulation but can flex under load or heavy crawling conditions.
Important:Uses stock screws for installation.
FTX8462 - Aluminium Upper Link (upgrade from FTX8313)
Aluminium replacement for the stock plastic upper link, offeringimproved strength and rigidity.
Reduces flex during suspension travel, improving steering precision and stability on rough terrain.
Important:Suppliedwithout screws- uses stock hardware.
Lower Suspension Links
FTX8323 - Stock Lower Link (plastic)
Standard plastic lower suspension link for the FTX Kanyon and Mighty Thunder.
Supports chassis weight and allows suspension movement; susceptible to bending under extreme load.
Important:Uses stock screws for installation.
FTX8460 - Aluminium Lower Link (upgrade from FTX8323)
Aluminium replacement for the stock lower link, providinggreater durability and stiffness.
Helps maintain suspension geometry under heavy use and improves handling on challenging surfaces.
Important:Suppliedwithout screws- uses stock hardware.
Other Parts of Interest
FTX8381 - Alloy Rear Link Holder: Stronger rear link holder replacement for improved suspension durability.
FTX8386 - Alloy Front Link Holder: Front link mount upgrade to aluminium, increasing axle rigidity and reducing flex.
Aluminium link mounts are compatible with the upgraded upper and lower suspension links, providing a fully reinforced suspension setup.
These parts are suppliedwithout screwsand use the stock hardware.
Other Considerations During Suspension Upgrades
Upgrading bothupper and lower links to aluminiumsignificantly improves suspension reliability, particularly for off-road crawling or jumps.
Pairing aluminium links with alloy link mounts (FTX8381/FTX8386) creates a stronger and more consistent suspension geometry.
Ensure proper alignment when installing aluminium links and mounts to avoid binding or incorrect suspension geometry.
The stock screws are compatible with all these upgrades, so no extra hardware is usually needed.
