Description
Etronix Ec3 3.5Mm Connector ET0601
I have a few options EC3 female to female EC3 ET0703, Micro Tamiya ET0825, Tamiya ET0827, and to male Deans / tPlug ET0829. Alternatively EC3 male, to female Deans T-Plug ET0830, Tamiya ET0828, Micro Mini Tamiya ET0826, EC3 ET0703, XT-60 ET0842EC3. And I also have the EC3 connectors on their own ET0601.
EC3 connectors are small, lightweight connectors for remote-controlled (RC) projects like drones and planes, using 3.5mm gold-plated bullet contects. They are rated for 25A continuous current, can handle short bursts up to 50A, and are suitable for 14AWG wire. Features include flame-retardant nylon housings for protection and easy identification of polarity and device/battery ends. They are sold in pairs and are soldered onto the relevant wires for a secure connection.
Key Features and Specifications
- 3.5mm Bullet Connectors: The 3.5mm gold-plated bullet contacts provide efficient and reliable electrical connections, reducing resistance.
- Current Rating: They are rated for a continuous 25A and can handle peak bursts of 50A.
- Wire Size: Recommended for use with 14AWG silicone wire.
- Material: The housings are made from impact-resistant, flame-retardant nylon, while the contacts are gold-plated copper.
- Polarity: They have clear polarity markings (+ and -) to prevent incorrect connection.
- Ergonomics: Designed with a comfortable grip for easy handling and a secure, tight fit.
Usage
- Soldering: The wires are soldered to the gold-plated contacts.
- Assembly: The tinned wire and contact are then inserted into the corresponding plastic housing—the "BATT" (battery) piece or the "DEV" (device) piece.
- Installation: The contact locks into the plastic housing with a distinct "pop".
- Safety: Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) to avoid damaging the battery or device.
Applications
- RC Aircraft: Commonly used in quadcopters and other RC aircraft.
- Drones: A popular choice for drones and other multirotor projects.
- General RC Projects: Suitable for any RC project requiring a reliable, low-to-medium power connection.
