Parts to complete a Kit Build e.g. Axial SCX10 II RC4WD Gleaned 2 or Trail Finder II

A lot of people ask what is needed to complete a kit build, SCX10, Gleaned 2, Trail Finder II etc.

Below is a list of a few parts I would point people too - there are so many options but this is a nice place to start, covers most needs.


RADIO - I would advise getting the 3 channel radio so you can add a winch at a later stage

ESC - nice small inexpensive waterproof ESC.

MOTOR - 45t is a nice all rounder and there is a rebuildable version if you want stronger drag brake.

SERVO - nice entry waterproof servo with option to rebuild.

SERVO HORN - a strong horn is a must have.

Basic - NiMh is you are starting out.

BATTERY - 3000mah on 45t motor should give 30min+ runtimes on most scale rigs.

CHARGER - Simple charger to charge the 3000mah in 3 hrs

Better - LiPo better performance, smaller and lighter.

BATTERY - Nice compact hard case lip - note you will need an adaptor lead for the about ESC

CHARGER - A good around charger for lots of sized batteries that can charge the about in 1hr.
