What is FTX8317?

FTX8317is arear axle driveshaft (short version)used in the rear axle assembly of certain FTX RC vehicles. It is an original FTX spare part designed to fit directly into compatible axle housings without modification. See image for part numbers for additional items you may also need.

Function

• Transfers drive from therear differentialto therear wheel hub.

• Forms part of therear drivetrain, allowing power to be delivered to the wheels.

• The “short” length is required on one side of the rear axle where spacing is reduced due to differential positioning.

Compatibility

FTX8317 is fitted to theFTX Kanyon rear axleand is standard equipment on:

• FTX Kanyon 1:10 XL Trail Crawler

• FTX Kanyon Mountain Rescue (2-Speed)

It is also shared with other FTX models that use the same axle design (such as the Outlaw, Zoro series).

Position in the Rear Axle Assembly

Within the FTX Kanyon rear axle:

• Theaxle housingcontains the differential gears.

• FTX8317 installs between thediff outputand therear wheel hex/hub.

• One side of the axle uses thisshort shaft, while the opposite side typically uses along driveshaft(commonly FTX8318).
